Bodie Island is one of my top five favorite lighthouses to photograph. This particular evening, I had dropped by to see what the moonrise at dusk looked like. It was spectacular with distant clouds and fog reflecting magenta from the setting sun and the glow of the moon seemingly in competition with the bright flash of the first-order Fresnel lens. As an added bonus, there was just enough water puddled in the parking lot to offer the moon's reflection.
