Perhaps the most famous of the original stern wheel steamboats on the Mississippi River is the Delta Queen. She once carried passengers and freight to destinations along the great American river. The Delta Queen is the grandest of them all and today is a floating hotel. I bet she returns to her glory one day and will be set free to again roam the great Mississippi and tributaries. It's hard to believe a river boat can become a National Historic Landmark, but if one deserves the title, she does.
