This gorgeous lighthouse was completed in 1875. Thanks to its permanent steward, the Outer Banks Conservationists, Inc., it looks as grand as it ever did. Restoration and persistent maintenance keeps it in top condition. The Double Keepers’ Quarters has also been miraculously saved by the group and makes entry into the light station as if one were back to the late nineteenth century. It is part of a quaint village that is made for walking.
